The basha is designed to serve as a multi-purpose shelter for field requirements. It is made of ruggedised water resistant material and is subdued in colour.
Multiple attachment points allow for various configurations.
The basha can be erected for shade and camouflage positions during the day or for rain protection.
It has an integral attachment point designed for use with the square form patrol mosquito net.
The basha has less bulk and weight than a normal tent but requires familiarisation to erect and use effectively.
When correctly used it provides the ranger with a flexible option for multiple requirements which may arrive in the field, whereas a tent can be limiting.
Basha deployment should always be with suitable chord for attachment points in the field and planning should be conducted as to the type of terrain in which the patrol will occur to know how basha erection and shelter preparation will take place.
