General purpose ranger patrol equipment carriage

  • Specifically designed to carry the items and weapons required by ranger patrols, as opposed to most load bearing equipment designed for military purposes.
  • Supports the basic equipment load-out requirement.
  • Main webbing carries four magazines (or two magazines and a communications device), IFAK and a small admin pouch. Can be paired with 12L Grab Bag.

[1] The SAP rig (Scout Anti-poaching Rig) is designed specifically with needs of the anti-poaching ranger in mind. The rig consists of Chest Rig.
[2] External equipment load carriage requirement of the ranger on patrol in most conservation areas differs to that of police and military units, for whom most commercial load carrying equipment is designed.
[3] The SAP rig has magazine pouches mounted on the left and right chest, optimised for 2 x 30 round magazines, which can expand capacity to 4 if required. This placement is optimised for a quick magazine change in left- or right-hand shooter.
[4] Retention of magazines is via elastic synch cord and a velcro closing flap.
[5] A small utility pouch and integrated IFAK (Individual first aid kit) essentials pouch is positioned between the magazine pouches.
[6] A folded map pocket is located behind the utility pouch. [7] MOLLE attachment points are designed for external attachment of various small pouches, such as tourniquet pouch, multitool pouch or radio as required per team SOP.
[8] The SAP rig attaches via an x-looped shoulder strap and waist strap.
[9] The SAP rig can be marked with a unit identifier in the form of permanent embroidering or removable velcro.
